The Huntington Beach Police Department announced that a wrong-way driver crossed over a center median and hit five cars in Huntington Beach late night on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th), police said. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The crash was reported about 11 p.m. near the 17300 block of Beach Boulevard, according to the Huntington Beach PD.
Lt. John Domingo of the Huntington Beach Police Department said the driver showed signs of drinking, and he was later arrested on suspicion of DUI. The St. Patrick’s Day crash happened when a driver traveling northbound on Beach Boulevard drove over a raised median and into the path of multiple cars.
The driver was taken to a hospital as a precaution, but was not seriously injured. The other four involved in the crash had minor to moderate injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment.
